I’ve written a few times about my favorite restaurant in St. Paul: Moscow on the Hill. For Christmas I was fortunate to receive an entire case of their house made horseradish vodka as a gift. Clearly I’m not an alcoholic.
Let’s be honest, I can drink this stuff straight up. The vodka is super smooth and has a great horseradish taste. Yum. Obviously this flavored vodka wouldn’t mix well with everything, but I’ve tried a few cocktails and bloody mary’s that the liquor suits just fine. My favorite cocktail, one they serve at Moscow, is a mix of liquors garnished with olives: the Russian Roulette. The distributor is working on selling this vodka in liquor stores in a few states around the country, but if you can get your hands on any type of horseradish flavored vodka you’re set. If you’re feeling super ambitious give this a shot.
Side note: If you’re into fruity, pansy drinks then don’t bother.
